NYBA INTRO CLASSES AND PROMOTIONS

 

No experience required. No equipment needed. We will supply you with the necessary equipment (Iaido, Kyudo, and Naginata). Limit 1 promotion per person. Valid only for option purchased. Reservation required. 24-hr cancellation notice preferred, NO REFUNDS (we can reschedule if necessary). Must be 16 or older. Clients under 16 must have parent or guardian sign legal waiver. All students must sign a legal waiver. All classes must be used by the same person. Payments are to be made online or prior to class (PayPal, cash or personal check). Sharp swords are not allowed due to liabilities. Any personal equipment brought to class must be shown and approved prior to practice.

Intro classes are mandatory for all new students. This class will prepare you with the basic skills of handling a these weapons (sword, yumi, and naginata – as well as dojo etiquette), so you can attend regular classes without disrupting our full time students. Even if you’ve studied a different Ryu (style) of Iaido, you are still required to take this class.

(If you wish to continue training with NYBA after you’ve finished with your promotion/intro class you will be required to set up a GYM DESK account for NYBA monthly dues – NYBA monthly dues ($70 +$10 for each additional Budo practice).

INTRO SWORD CLASS (IAIDO) – 1 CLASS

INTRO KYUDO CLASS (ARCHERY) – 1 CLASS

  • IF YOU WISH TO JOIN NYBA AFTER YOU FINISH YOUR PROMOTION:

    NYBA MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP – $70 PER MONTH (1 BUDO PRACTICE)
    – IAIDO (SWORD)

    – NAGINATA (POLE-ARM)

    $80 (+$10) per month – 2 BUDO PRACTICES

    $90 (+20) per month – 3 BUDO PRACTICES

    AFTER YOU TAKE A CLASS AND WANT TO DROP IN NOW AND THEN – $20 PER CLASS – MAT FEE (SWORD/NAGINATA)
    $25 KYUDO – MAT FEE


    NYBA PATREON – We offer several tiers from $1 – $50 (Access to online classes begins at $10)

    Our fee structure works like this: $50 per month + $100** RSR Annual Dues Chart + $50 RSR Passport = first month $200 ($50 per month after that for regular monthly dues). For any reason you will be absent for an extended period of time, please let us know and we can suspend your account until you come back.

    For $60 per month you will be able to also join the Kyudo group (in-person/online) as well.

    *This does not include kyudo and special seminars and online classes.

    **We pay $100 – $120 (depending on Yen exchange rate*) annual Ryushin Shouchi Ryu dues directly to the Honbu (main branch in Tokyo), this allows you to be “officially” ranked within this system and to be able to attend seminars when Yahagi Soke (the headmaster) comes to the US. This does not include seminar, testing or certificate fees. NOTE: We are a non-profit organization 501c(3). We do this because we are dedicated to the preservation and continuation of traditional Japanese martial arts. All money collected goes to pay for the location, equipment, notes, etc…

  • Easy, after you finish your promotion (limit 1-per student) you would begin paying NYBA monthly dues on the 1st of the next month.

    All active NYBA members (Iaido, Kyudo, and Naginata) are required use an auto bill payment method through a GYM DESK account.

    NYBA monthly membership fees are due on the first of the month.
