AniTOMO Manga & Anime Convention
A FREE Manga & Anime Con! From the minds of BIPOC trailblazers comes a cross-pollination between Brooklyn & Japan! Hosted By Japan Village
NYBA is proud to be participating in the third annual aniTOMO CON hosted at Japan Village. This is FREE event for the public. NYBA will be performing an Embu (demonstration/performance) in KENJUTSU/IAIDO (Japanese sword – Ryushin Shouchi Ryu 柳心照智流).
We will also be offering numerous small workshops in Japanese Sword (limited availability so please register online).
Each workshop will last approximately 15 – 20 minutes and will include some sword basics:
– How to hold the sword properly (Tenouchi (手の内).
– How to draw the sword.
– How to cut – Suburi practice.
NYBA will lend you an obi (belt) and a bokken (wooden sword and saya).
